How to Read the "Wheel of Time" series

In 1990, I picked up a book by a writer named Robert Jordan, who was mainly known among fans of fantasy for the Conan novels he penned, which were among my favorites at the time. I bought it without a moment's hesitation and loved it. The Eye of the World followed the classic formula high fantasy had been treading since Tolkien wrote of hobbits leaving the Shire with Nazgul in pursuit.
Getting to the end of the book and realizing it was the first in the series was icing on the cake of a thrilling, fast paced fantasy read. I couldn't wait for what I assumed would be the conclusion, the third book in the series. After all, nearly all high fantasy before the 90's were trilogies.
Alas, Book 3 did not wrap up the story, and in a pre-Internet world, I had no way of knowing that Jordan intended for 12 books. By the time book 6 came out, I was tired of waiting for closure.
So I got stuck at book seven for several years. Last year, I began listening to Book 7, sure that I'd be using it to augment my actual reading of the book. I'm not sure I've picked up a Jordan novel since. But I am about to begin Book 11. And I'm looking forward to the posthumous collaboration of Jordan with Brandon Sanderson. So, to all those who have given up on Jordan, and wished they hadn't, or to those who are thinking about starting but have heard too many negative reviews, here's how I recommend reading Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series.
1. Understand that Jordan loves detail. He describes clothing in so much detail, that if "Wheel of Time" ever gets optioned for film or television, the costume designers will be able to go for a lot of coffee breaks. He is fond of giving elaborately detailed descriptions of every character, even minor ones.
2. The repetition of previously established plot elements in subsequent books is for people traveling on planes who pick up book 5 in the airport. It allows them to enter the world enough to get through the read. It's a device publishing companies use with bestselling series like this to ensure that the series remain a bestseller. While I have never started any series mid-way through, some people apparently do, and these passages are for them.
3. Jordan likes to weave intricate plots with a cast of characters so large it necessitates a glossary at the end of each book. Many of the books are entirely character based, and so seem to have "no action" taking place. This is because many readers want someone to storm a tower, engage in a climactic battle, or throw a ring into a fiery pit. Jordan is too busy marrying characters or introducing a new plot thread to bother with such things. And while he may not talk about a character for one book, he almost always returns to them.
4. I started thinking about "Wheel of Time" as a television series. It's long enough to sustain several seasons, and the cast is basically the OC meets LOTR. We watch TV one episode at a time. I began to view the chapters in each book as "episodes" of "Wheel of Time" as a television series, and each book as a "season." I don't like every episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and there are some seasons I like better than others. Some of my favorite episodes are in my least favorite seasons. But I love the characters, and I want to see what happens to them. I love the characters in Wheel of Time. I want to see what happens to them. So I keep "tuning in."
5. I got over the reasons I quit. Simply put, they were my reasons. I had expectations of Jordan he never intended to fulfill. I expected him to wrap it up in a trilogy. He didn't. I expected him to snap Rand out of his sullen funk. He didn't. I expected him to stop telling me about the embroidery on coats or dresses. He didn't. I expected him to bring a certain major character back from the dead. He didn't. And finally, I expected him to finish before he passed away. And he didn't.
It was that last one that really galvanized me. When I heard he had terminal cancer (many years after it was a reality), it got me thinking about the legacy the man would leave on this earth. An epic bestselling fantasy series. And I realized that, to quote Elvis and Sinatra, he'd done it his way. I might not like some of the choices Jordan made, but I love the world he created and the people walking through it. And I want to know how they fare in the end.
So that's my journey to Book 11 of "Wheel of Time" and I share it because I want new readers to know what to expect, but also to let go of those expectations, and know that the journey is worth taking. Especially if you want to be there when the final novel is released next year.
Me? I'll be starting book 1 again this fall and listening to all the previous "Seasons" of "Wheel of Time," one per month, in anticipation of the final installment. The Wheel of Time turns...and I'll be "turning pages" with it.

A Tremendous Start, But Beware

The Wheel of Time is probably the best-known and most widely read fantasy series other than The Lord of the Rings.
When this book was published in 1988 or 1989, it created a sensation -- a tremendous first volume that had the usual good-evil battle and tons of action but also was filled with magic, history, politics, sociology, cultural background and realistic characters. When I re-read the first five books, I was amazed at the details of history and politics that Jordan provided in his world. Jordan also has numerous protagonists, not just one or two primary ones like many other fantasy writers.
Moreover, Eye of the World features strong men and, through their magical abilities and powerful personalities, stronger women. Jordan has been rightly lauded for the prominent and powerful roles he created for the female characters.
The Great Hunt, The Dragon Reborn, The Shadow Rising and The Fires of Heaven followed and created a tremendous series such that The New York Times noted that Jordan had come to dominate the genre that Tolkien made famous.
In Eye of the World, the writing is smooth, the various characters and their motivations work well, and there's action aplenty. The sense of innocence and mystery that correspond to the heroes' relative lack of knowledge of their surroundings and the world at large is palpable and realistic.
Unfortunately, starting with Lord of Chaos (book 6), Jordan's creation became unwieldy. Instead of concentrating on following the themes and story-threads of books 1-5 (which combined are more than 3500 pages, hardcover), he created new storylines, bogged down the narrative and halted the pace of the epic. Book 8 in particular is an unmitigated disaster -- 650 pages (hardcover) of wheel-spinning (pardon the pun) with almost no progress to the story. Book 9 began to jump-start the narrative once again.
The series is at 10 books (the tenth will be published in about two months from now) and growing (13 total possible -- it's a common numerical theme in the books), thus the last volume will be published in 2006, at the earliest.
The Eye of the World is great, as are the next four in the series. They are, however, addictive, so know what you're getting into.

An original, fantasy epic

This book was recommended to me by the manager of a brick and mortar store nearby. I have read a great deal of science fiction/fantasy, and after a while, it all starts to feel the same. You know what I mean: how many times can we revisit Tolkein-esque charcaters like elves, dwarves, and orcs? I was very pleased to discover an entirely new world.
Robert Jordan has created a landscape of magnificent proportions. Accents, legends, superstitions, politics...His amazing attention to detail allowed me to become fully immersed in the story. Even more surprising is that the quality of his writing is maintained throughout the book's length of 782 pages. I couldn't put this novel down, with the result that I finished it well inside of a week.
This is the first book of a series, and the reviews for some of the later books aren't as glowing. However, I feel that this book is a great read, and can stand on its own. It is not uncommon for series to degrade over time -- take a look at "Wishsong of Shannara"by Terry Brooks, "The One Tree" by Stephen R. Donaldson, or "The Sorceress of Darshiva" by David Eddings. All three of these books fail to live up to the quality of others in their respective series, but that doesn't mean you should avoid the series altogether.
"Eye of the World" provides us with an epic that is also refreshingly new. Robert Jordan presents us with a world that is the most richly colorful since Tolkein. If you're a fan of fantasy, then don't miss reading this book.

1) His explainations of the properties, structure and applicaiton of various alloys is simple and to the point. (Many of them are somewhat out of date, but so is every other textbook in the world.) Excellent for metallurgists.
2) This book is so loaded with tables, you may never have to look any mechanical property data up in the library again. Excellent for mechanical engineers.
Although expensive, this book will replace a dozen others on your desk.

Good entertainment and a harrowing warning on the dangers of nuclear weapons and the minds of dictators

I got this book when it came out, in paperback edition, back in 1980, and soon wore it out. As a native New Yorker (four generations), it terrified me beyond words.

The authors of this book, veteran journalists and a long-time writing team from two continents and perspectives, wove together a highly complex thriller and cautionary tale about two malignant threats to civilization: the dangers of nuclear terrorism and the fanaticism of Muammar al-Qaddafi, set in roughly the Christmas season of 1979.

The detail and plotting was intricate and impressive, with an array of entertaining characters, some of them real people, like Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, Deputy Secretary of State Warren Christopher, Nobel Laureate Stanley Ulham, and Muammar himself. Others were fictional: dedicated and aging New York police detective Angelo Rocchia, who cracks the case, his eager sidekick FBI agent Jack Rand (with the usual buddy police-movie issues), National Security Adviser Jack Eastman, French super-spy Henri Bertrand, and of course, the terrorists themselves, the extremely dysfunctional Dajani family, whose career in nuclear physics and international terror ends in fratricide and gunplay. There's also the obligatory New York mayor who clearly resembles Ed Koch.

The authors offer a wide range of settings, the faux glitter of Studio 54, the deserts of Libya, the hills of Jerusalem,, the centers of power at the Pentagon and the White House, an upper-class apartment in Paris, a great newspaper's editorial offices, slums in Brooklyn's Red Hook, a cellar full of outdated nuclear civil defense supplies, the New York Transit Authority's operations center, a mistress's apartment in Manhattan, a snappy (and real) restaurant on Centre Street, a suburban house in Spring Valley, the laboratories of Los Alamos, and the streets of Greenwich Village, where I grew up, so the book had immediate resonance to me. I was highly amused that the terrorists chose to hide their nuclear weapon right behind the garage where my father used to park our family car.

There are weaknesses. The American military responds to the crisis a lot faster than it probably really could. The secret is held a lot longer and more effectively than believable, given the vast overnight mobilization by American intelligence, police, and military agencies. Some of the characters are stock types, like the New York Mayor, the Police Commissioner, and some of the Cabinet members. The disintegrating romance between the Police Detective and his New York Times girlfriend seems somewhat tacked-on and its fate is unresolved.

And while a 1978 evacuation of Manhattan Island seemed an unlikely feat, the 2001 and 2003 evacuations in the wake of 9/11 and the blackout showed that it could be done without chaos, with fine organization, good humor, and excellent public-spiritedness. The authors seem to regard New York as a disintegrating nightmare. In 1978, that may have been true, though.

The book has two warnings: the United States (and therefore Western civilization) is utterly unprepared for and completely at risk for nuclear terrorism with devastating consequences. Some of that has been addressed by advances in technology, like gamma-ray detectors. Others by unmitigated horror -- 9/11 raised homeland security awareness to record levels. Nonetheless, the danger remains -- that someone with immense scientific ability, good financial resources, and a large penknife to grind might develop a nuclear weapon, and rather than fire it by rocket or plane at America or Britain, simply smuggle it into London or New York by ship, and incinerate either of those cities to make their point. A frightening idea, indeed.

The other warning was about Muammar al-Qaddafi. He was depicted as a menace to the body politic. That came true, with his ghastly terrorist attacks and incidents, culminating in the horrible 1988 Lockerbie bombing, which incinerated an American airliner and the Scottish town it was flying over. By today's Brobdingnagian standards of terrorism, that attack seems small beer, which is unfortunate and a sad commentary on the public memory.

But in the end, Qaddafi was stopped. Not as in the book, which hints that he will be the victim of assassination, nor by foreign enemies, or illness and age, but by his own people, who grew tired of his bizarre tyranny, and gave him the same treatment that Italians gave Mussolini and Romanians to Ceausescu...butchering him in public. Qaddafi is now a monument to insane egotism and a warning to would-be tyrants that their worst enemy is the people they claim to lead.

However, despite its age, this novel still stands up as good entertainment and a harrowing warning on the dangers of nuclear weapons and the minds of dictators...they should not go together.

I first read this book almost 15 years ago. It is practically bleeding with researched technical facts to enhance the plot, which is also captivating. Two main characters, Whalid and the President, seem to change their outlook later in the book.

It is a must read, especially now. A TLC broadcast from 1997, Doomsday: On The Brink, shows that as decades pass, such an incident might be inevitable. In the last 30,000 years, every other weapon the human race has invented has proliferated and been used. Decades? Centuries? Millenia? When the people who remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki have passed? Who might be tempted to push the button then? Not just political or military leaders, but terrorists?

A terrifying must read.

I couldn't put the book down

This is a prototype Tom Clancy book before there were Tom Clancy books.
I had bought The Fifth Horseman at an airport before a business trip. I read it on the flight for half an hour or so. Then it disappeared into the piles of non-essential materials.
Four months later, the book resurfaced. (Obviously, the first few chapters hadn't made much of an impression.) It was a morning in June about ten o'clock, outdoors on a hammock, when I started the book once more. It was in my den, after midnight, when I finally read the last page of the book.
What a story! A cliff hanger. Tremendous suspense. Extremely plausible. So good that I didn't read another novel for months because nothing else could compete with the experience The Fifth Horseman had provided. It was simply THAT good.
Amazon.com says this book is now out-of-print. Don't let that stop you. Buy it at auction. Find it at your library. Listen to it on audiotape. If you like books of international intrigue, this is the definitive suspense story.

You hear me saying “Stay away from ‘they’” all the time, but who are “they”? I’ll tell you: “They” are the enemy. “They” want to keep the keys hidden and block you from the pathway of more success, and “they” want to see you to fail. I’ve seen “they” out there and I’ve seen their evil. It makes “they” happy when you don’t prosper and “they” laugh at your plans to make yourself better and get ahead. The person who wants to distract you from your studies or your career with their drama? That’s a “they.” That’s a big “they.” But here’s a major key: As long as you stay away from “they,” you will prosper.

People ask me how “they” become that way. I tell them—hate makes you “they.” Back in the day I used to just call “they” haters, but I realized after a while that I had to change that word out of necessity. “They” are sneakier than that—“they” take all forms. For some it will be immediately apparent that there’s hate in their hearts, but others have a disguise.

There’s the type who will do everything in their power to befriend you; “they” will want to hug you and kiss you, meet your family, and become your friend. You’ve even got the kind who bring you thoughtful presents. But even if a “they” hid their true nature at the beginning, eventually you’ll see their evil energy. The “they” vibe is a mess. You know that feeling in your gut when you meet someone who seems off? Young world: Pay close attention to that feeling and trust your instincts. It doesn’t matter how new or inexperienced you are, or how influential “they” are, or what “they” have that you don’t. Don’t get distracted by the gifts and affection and don’t ever think a “they” knows what’s best for you.

I’m blessed for a lot of reasons. You can see the blessings in my house, my family, my musical garden, and Florida, but an unseen blessing might be one of the most important—my memory. Anyone who’s ever worked with me—and that’s a lot of people—will tell you the same thing. I remember. I want this to be put in bold in the book in big letters: I REMEMBER. Major key.
“They” tried to count me out. “They” told me I couldn’t have a house on the ocean, that I couldn’t have a garden filled with angels. “They” told me time and time again that whatever my goals were I couldn’t reach them. And I remember it all—twenty years of doubt and hate. If you’re reading this and experiencing doubt and hate right now, just remember I’ve gone through all of it and triumphed. I’ve had “they” tell me to my face—to my face!—that I wouldn’t amount to anything. When I was working at the very bottom, nobody was trying to hear that I was going to be the biggest DJ in Miami and the world. Nobody thought a high school dropout would ever be a record label executive. Even later, when I wanted to make an album, I had so many people tell me I’d lost my mind. “They” all said, “Khaled, you can’t have a hip-hop album; you can’t rap.” But I found a way. Not only that, I make some of the biggest rap records in history.

And now I got the keys. And “they” hate it. “They” hid the keys from me because they wanted to end me. “They” didn’t want me to learn that if I work hard and dream big I’ll win. This is exactly the lesson that I want to share with you. Don’t let “they” ever tell you anything different.
Because “they” are petty. The whole lot are busybodies who want to get in your head and ruin all the pleasure in your life. “They” don’t want you to win. “They” don’t want you to do 360s on a Jet Ski. “They” don’t want you to have stars on the roof of your Rolls-Royce. “They” don’t want you to enjoy your best life.

So how do you make sure you do all the things that “they” don’t want you to? Take out the trash. Rid yourself of all the “they.” As soon as “they” show you their true colors, act fast and cut them loose. It’s like breaking a hit record or making a new announcement—timing is everything. And the time is always now.

I know that when I say take out the trash, it sounds simplistic. Making that choice in your mind is easy; you’re a boss, and you do what you have to. But actually deciding to go out and take out the trash can be difficult and require a lot of follow-through. You just have to remember that “they” will try anything to make you change your mind. “They” will try to confuse you and beg you for another chance, or try to argue and blame someone else for their mistakes.

But when you’ve got a “they” on your team, you have to move. I can’t stress this enough. Don’t just talk about that person behind their back or start beef on social media. It’s not only a waste of time, it’s the first step in how you become a “they.” Tell them straight up that “they” are no longer a part of the team and why. Just do it. Don’t wait for something to change. Don’t start second-guessing yourself. Here’s another key: When a “they” is on your team, it’s like a cancer on your future success. Think about that. “They” are stealing from your future, the future that you work hard every day to make sure you reach.

Part of making sure that you’re keeping trash off your team is keeping a small circle. Now, my circle’s always been tight, but as the successes get bigger, I tighten up my circle more. It’s very important. I’ve seen people make mistakes and do the opposite. Some people can’t handle success; I can. What that means is that some people sabotage themselves when they’re on a winning team. When a boss’s circle gets too big, people on the team start thinking they’re bosses or make sloppy decisions because they get gassed or greedy. The more people you have around you, the more chances one of them is a “they.” “They” are everywhere, so this is just math and logic. Small circles mean you have a better chance of getting all the ungrateful people out of your life. And “they” shouldn’t take it personally because it’s business. Now, I’m not saying that just because we’re hot we’re trying to leave people behind. It’s that a certain number of wins can change someone. You’ve heard it before: power corrupts.

That said—and this can be sad—sometimes you can have a good friend who turns into a “they.” People change. It’s human nature to evolve. Now, you can be a good friend and try to help a “they” out and tell them to cleanse off, maybe jump in the ocean—use that salt water to rinse off the evil. And when it’s an old friend, you might really go out of your way to try to change them. But let me tell you: Once someone turns into a “they”—even if it’s your oldest, closest friend—most of the time there’s no changing back. Hate makes you “they.” Jealousy makes you “they.” And since We The Best, that hate and envy won’t stop.

The point is, some people can’t elevate their vision because they don’t want to progress in the pursuit of prosperity. Instead of being inspired to new heights, they want to drag you down to their level. So just be straight up. Tell them it’s time to part ways. It’s not just a matter of cutting them off, it’s that they’re cutting themselves off. It happens all the time. Do it quickly and clearly. I just tell them, “Yo, don’t ever walk into my house with any negative energy in your life.” I don’t care who it is or where we are. If there’s a room, I’m out or “they” out. Period. My people know this.
I can’t stand ungrateful people. Ungrateful people are some of the evilest “they”s I can imagine. I know some people who are ungrateful to where it’s so disappointing, but it’s called “Congratulations: You played yourself. Look at us. We’re not stopping. So whatever plan you had in your head with your ungratefulness and your complaining and your evil and your doubt, it’s not going to work.”

Fan Luv is beautiful, and I’ve got so many fans, but if you know me personally . . . like, if you’ve been to my house and really know me, you know I always help my family, team, loved ones, and give back to the community. Some of it you see, or maybe you read about it online, but a lot of it is anonymous. I help people out in so many different ways, so when I know someone who is ungrateful, I have to get them out of my life. It’s unfortunate, but lately I don’t even waste time thinking about “they.” That’s not selfish; that’s me taking care of my vibe and making sure I stay positive. This is a lesson that really took a long time for me to learn. Prioritizing yourself isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

It’s real out there. But you have to believe in your instincts and your vision because when you stay away from “they” there’s a reward. There’s a feeling out there that the whole world is missing out on, and it’s called joy.

Joy is an all-body experience that touches your soul. Some people think they have joy now, and they might be happy, but what I’m talking about is really special. True joy. You’re going to be so much better once you stay away from “they.” You’ll feel like you’re living a whole new life, a life free of hate, doubt, envy, and trash vibes, and let me be the one to tell you that that’s when you can start winning. Great book!!!!! I've already read 20 pages and it is an amazing book that will help you make your way to success!! Don't listen to the haters that are giving it 1 star. These are the losers that hate on successful people and never make it anywhere in life. These are the people that DJ Khalid talks about, "they". "They" don't want you to read this book and educate yourself off of a successful person, so get this book and educate yourself straight from the successful person!!!!

Purchased book for troubled son.

Purchased this book for my son who is serving time in county jail. He is a gifted poet and prolific writer. I sent him Empire State of Mind about Jay Z and he devoured it. Just sent him DJ KHALED's book. He can't wait to get out and start working on his writing and music. Thanks to these great examples, he is looking at life through a different lens. Thanks.

About the Author

ERIC HEHMAN is Chief Executive Officer of Austin Asset. Eric joined Austin Asset in 1997 as an unpaid intern, became a principal in 1999, and CEO in 2007. In 2014, Eric completed the seven-year transition plan providing for the retirement of the firm's founder.

JAY HUMMEL is a Senior Vice President in the Corporate Strategy group of Envestnet. He spends much of his time consulting with the company's largest Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) clients and prospects, helping them build and deliver on their strategic vision through their partnership with Envestnet.

TIM KOCHIS is a 40-plus-year veteran of the wealth management industry and a founder and former CEO and Chairman of Aspiriant. He successfully transitioned equity ownership and management responsibility and now consults with firms around the world facing similar issues.

Internal Succession Planning Guidance From Financial Advisors Who Have Really Lived It!

While there have been a few books written about executing a(n internal) succession plan from the perspective of an advisory firm founder (such as Succession Planning for Financial Advisors, + Website: Building an Enduring Business (Wiley Finance)), remarkably little has even been written from the perspective of the internal successor. Until now.

Hehman, Hummel, and Kochis provide a unique perspective on the dynamics of internal succession of an advisory firm, as people who have actually lived it and know what really happens - Hehman and Hummel were internal successors themselves, and Kochis lived the opposite side of a deal as a founder who exited a highly successful advisory firm.

Accordingly, Success and Succession provides valuable guidance on the "little" issues that successors might not even be thinking about, such as how to transition the management of the firm (not just the clients), how to position and communicate the messaging to clients during a succession transition, and the risks involved - both for the founder who is selling his/her most valuable asset, and the successor who has to take on hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars in debt to buy it!

And reflecting the sheer real world experience of the authors, a significant portion of the book is dedicated to the emotional issues that arise in a succession plan, from founders whose personal identity may have become too wrapped in the business (making it difficult to let go), to successors who struggle with the dynamic of shifting from being a peer/colleague of co-workers to their future boss.

For any financial advisor considering the path of an internal succession, "Success and Succession" is a must read. And frankly, it's just as worthwhile for advisory firm founders who are preparing to go through an internal succession as well, and want a better perspective on the path they're about to tread!

Perfect timing!

The timing of this book could not have been any better! Although my business in not in the financial planning industry, the real estate services business has many parallels. Many of the strategies and discussions in this book are applicable across other sectors as well. I am in the same position as Eric was in transitioning with the founder of my company.

I thought the book was clear and easy to read. There was no preaching or marketing hidden in the messages and I liked the real life examples and stories included in the book. I am reading it for a second time now and using many of the suggestions in the book as a guideline for my next steps in the transition process.

Whether you are the successor or the founder of a company, this is a good resource tool.

Concise and well written. Gives a good framework for the thought process needed to be successful in transitioning an RIA to the next generation of those willing and able to continue the legacy of a firm. The writer encourages the founders/successors of an RIA to start the planning process early and put what is best for the client as the primary objective and focus. Many of us started our firms for this reason and how could we seek anything less following our departure.

Good classroom edition

I like teaching this novel, but I don't have time to teach the full text. This abridgement does a good job of capturing the fullness of the story and the characters in about 40% of the pages. I like the historical timelines at the beginning and the Notes sections at the end. My students find the novel easy to manage, too.

ABRIDGED - falsely labeled

I am very disappointed that the copy is advertised as "complete and unabridged" - right on the cover! This is definitely NOT complete or unabridged. Les Miserables is a fantastic book, but I would not recommend this publication by "Enriched Classics". Nor will I buy any from this publishing company again. I believe they should label their books honestly and correctly. If you want to read an unabridged version, do not buy this book.

Trashy, Inept, and Deceptive Treatment of a Classic

Nowhere in this edition does it say whether the book is abridged or unabridged. Nowhere does it say who the translator is. Wouldn't these be basic facts a customer is entitled to know?

Rather ironic omissions for an "enriched" edition allegedly full of supplementary helpful information.

Even worse, I strongly suspect (from another version of this 'enriched' edition on Amazon) that the translator is Charles Wilbour, a man who seems to always pop up as the translator of many French novels, but a man who should never be allowed near the French language:

As someone who knows French, I counted on just the first half page -eight- different unclear - or just plain wrong - translations. Some of them render a French word into a little known,stilted, or archaic English word.

That's when I said "Ah! This has to be Wilbour" . . . And I tossed the book with great force at the radiator.

Excellent material bar none

This is an excellent piece of literature well worth the price. This book is a very excellent read that keeps your attention throughout its pages, it covers a vast amount of information on developing resolute thinking skills, and furthering ones fencing skills when having discourse. The book is also just as firm and sound with the development of writing skills, and though this rating is not my best writing; please do not let get past you as this book is an excellent, excellent purchase. You will not go wrong in owning a copy. If for no other reason this piece of literature would make an excellent gift to give to someone; whom faces challenges in any of these areas. Note: I try to face my challenges head on, and so needless to say the book is aiding me in many areas. Hope that this information will be as helpful for you as it has been for me, be well.

This book is for students who need to know the ins and outs of critical thinking. An excellent book. I want it for another
reason and intend to use parts of it for an adults course - not directly but to gather it with other ideas.
